Configuring any MAPI-compliant* mail client to
fetch mails in WebContact Wizard:
| • |
To configure your MAPI-compliant mail client
to fetch mails, make sure it has been set
as your default mail client. WebContact
Wizard only fetches mail from the default
mail client, whether it is MAPI or Outlook.
|
|
|
|
•
|
Specify the e-mail address to which enquiries
from your web form are sent, and give it
a name (Account Query). Ensure these accounts
have already been configured in the default
mail client.
|
|
|
|
•
|
Disable any rules you have set in your mail
client for moving relevant mails to subfolders
or processed differently so that they stay
in the main Inbox itself. If you have set
rules earlier and would like to map previous
mails to the WebContact Wizard database,
you need to move them to the main Inbox
in order for WebContact Wizard to process.
Once fetched by WebContact Wizard, they
can be moved back to the subfolder that
you have previously created in your mail
client.
|
|
|
|
•
|
Ensure that you have the latest MDAC component
installed in your system. In Version 1.5*,
the component is checked and installed when
you install WebContact Wizard using 'Typical
Installation'. You may also download and
install the component separately from Microsoft's
website.
|
|
|
| • |
As you proceed to the next step, WebContact
Wizard will fetch mails from your MAPI mail
client and display mails from its Inbox. Open
one of the mails to use as a reference to
build a database table (map) through the Mail
Mapping Wizard. You may build as many maps
as needed for each Account Query. |
|
|
| *
Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI)
is a common mailing protocol used by most
mail clients (e-mail programs). Mail clients
like Eudora®, Novell® GroupWise, Microsoft®
Outlook Express, and Netscape® are MAPI compliant.
